This picture is a scene with spatial and lighting effects similar to Romantic art of the 19th century -- hence the philosophic but ironic title.

Here the ten whirling configurations are entirely spontaneous with no changes or overpainting. Ten little tornadoes, each with its own setting, are what they suggest to me.

The theme, which developed from nine circles and the strident yellow-green hue, attempts to overcome and yet include this harsh color in the general design. The title fits this situation in a whimsical way.
